Call for Auditions to Roald Dahl's
MATILDA The Musical

Directed by Raymond Saar

Musical Direction by Diane Ketchie
Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl with extraordinary powers. The daughter of abusive parents, Matilda finds refuge in library books, which she reads quickly and in creating her own stories. Things are no better at school, where Matilda also must face a tyrannical and cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who believes in Crunchem Hall’s motto: “Bambinatum est Magitum,” or “Children are Maggots.” She finds companionship in her teacher, Miss Honey, though well-intentioned, is shy and fragile. Brave little Matilda knows she has to stand up against the adults in her world, and in doing so, discovers her own remarkable powers. Matilda’s bravery teaches Miss Honey and her classmates an important lesson -- that even though life can be hard, “nobody but me is gonna change my story” so “sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty.”
Auditions
·     Open Call & in person- SATURDAY, JANUARY 31, 2026 | 1:30pm-6:30pm
·     Callbacks will also be done on Saturday during this same time 

Audition Requirements:
  • Prepare a 16-32 measure musical theater song preferably from the show.
  • Live accompaniment is preferred. An accompanist will be provided
  • Bring sheet music clearly marked, in the correct key, and neatly prepared.
  • Be sure to prepare for each part you want to audition for.

Audition Registration & Payment: 
In order to audition, please make the $500 registration fee payment (click on "Donate") prior to January 31. You must complete the Registration (click below) AND you must have paid the $500 participation fee.

Rehearsals are generally on Sundays from 1pm - 6pm at Born to Perform Studio in Thousand Oaks, with mutually agreed upon rehearsals for select groups weekday evenings.
